Teaming up with Oryel, the design studio of Art Director Koichi Inoue, JKD Collective has undertaken branding and visual design for Japan’s largest jazz festival, Tokyo Jazz. Our solution was an energetic mix of Japanese and roman typography, creating a kinetic jazz motif while expressing the sophistication of present day Tokyo.

Given the large scale of the festival, our visuals circulated heavily in newspapers and magazines, on the web and on outdoor billboards. The festival took place September 6–8, 2013 at Tokyo International Forum and Cotton Club. Tokyo Jazz website
