- Our Work
Future Voices is an original documentary series by JKD Collective that preserves the ideas and philosophies of creative pioneers whose work has shaped contemporary culture, passing their voices on to future generations. Rather than looking back on the past, the series is dedicated to preserving ideas that will continue to inspire the future.
This episode features Teruo Kurosaki (1949–2026), founder of the legendary furniture brand IDÉE and one of the most influential figures in Japan’s creative community. Far beyond furniture and interior design, Kurosaki’s work extended into architecture, art, music, fashion, publishing, urban development, and regional revitalization. Constantly crossing disciplines, he created new cultural values and brought together creative people, companies, and communities. His unique ability to create places with an almost magnetic attraction profoundly influenced the lives and creative journeys of countless individuals.
This film explores the source of his creativity, his philosophy of design, and the message he wished to leave for future generations.Built around a series of rare interviews conducted over the final two years of his life before his passing in March 2026, this documentary captures the thoughts, vision, and enduring legacy of Teruo Kurosaki.
