We were in charge of sound and music direction and production for the soundscape enveloping the outdoor areas of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
This soundscape is built around the concept of “Ensemble of Life.” The Yumeshima site is divided into seven thematic zones — Earth, Sky, Water, Forest, City, Festival, and Life — each with its own distinct sonic design. Seven artists collaborated with the soundscape’s creative team to co-create a unique sonic world in each area.
All compositions share a unified BPM (tempo), allowing them to harmonize naturally across zones. Human, nature, animal, and technology — the sounds of life from across the globe — come together to form one grand ensemble.
The sound continuously plays from the venue’s opening to closing each day, subtly shifting in response to the time of day and the weather. As the wind blows, the sun shines, or people pass by, the soundscape breathes and responds — creating a living landscape of sound.
We hope this soundscape leaves a lasting impression on visitors — an experience where nature and humanity, space and emotion, resonate as one.
