Hiroshi Watanabe aka KAITO
An artist who paints the depths of human emotion through sound — where melancholic melodies and finely-honed beats intertwine to form a world of lyricism and stillness.
His bold yet delicate sense of composition, combined with an undeniable emotional intensity, has earned him deep respect from listeners and music professionals worldwide. Born into a family of musicians, Watanabe studied at a music high school before attending Berklee College of Music in the U.S., developing a strong foundation in theory and composition.
In the early 2000s, he became one of the first Japanese artists to gain international recognition through releases on the renowned German label KOMPAKT. Since then, he has continued to release works across Japanese and international labels, composing for animation and games, collaborating with traditional folk musicians, and exhibiting photography — expanding his creative expression across multiple disciplines.
